Discarded and ignored by those around her for most of her life, Cassie is a lonely human woman struggling to find her place in the world and meaning in her life. Cadeyrn is the Erlking, the leader of the Wild Hunt, a hundreds of thousands of years old Fae who has always known his purpose. He has spent his entire long existence tracking the criminals of Fairie and punishing them for their crimes.
While hunting for the murderer of a child who has escaped to Earth Cadeyrn comes across Cassie and realizes that she is the one that the great mother goddess has designated as his soul mate. He kidnaps her and takes her to his fortress in Fairie to protect her from his many enemies. He knows she will be angry and that he’ll have to work to earn her trust, but he finds his task to be even more challenging than he had thought it would be due to Cassie’s difficulty in opening her heart.
Will Cadeyrn be able to convince Cassie that the bond between them is real and earn her love?

What other reviewers are saying:

“‘Taken By The Hunstman’ was engaging, well written and thought provoking while remaining entertaining and erotic. That combination is often rare in books standing out in the genre of fantasy romance. The author does a terrific job of keeping your attention and walking the reader through the magical realm of the Fae with enough backstory and description to introduce the characters, their language, their history and their culture to those who love fantasy and those without prior experience to this world. “-Sharon Peterson

“This is one of the best spins on the ancient folk myth of the Wild Hunt and the Huntsmen I have read. This is Mistral Dawn’s debut novel which is such a shock because she nailed it!”-The Book Quarry

“This is a sexy love story with enough underlying scheming and plotting to keep the reader’s attention.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a spicy love story and is fascinated by the world of the Fae.”-Elizabeth Horton-Newton, Author

bound by the summer prince

Bound by the Summer Prince

The official blurb:

The Summer Court is in an uproar. The king has just been executed for unpardonable crimes, and the queen is prostrate with grief over his loss. This leaves the Summer kingdom bereft of true leadership; a problem which is compounded by the fact that the laws of Fairie require balance to be maintained by having a male and a female ruler for both Season Courts at all times. Uaine, the Summer prince, is the only one who can put things right, but he is without a mate. Knowing that he must take a bride quickly, for the sake of his people, even though he is struggling with his own feelings of pain and anger over his father’s treachery, he goes for a walk in a forest near the palace to try to clear his head and determine how best to choose a female to rule beside him.

While walking Uaine discovers a human female running loose in Fairie, which is against the most basic tenets of Fae law. Furious at one more problem he must deal with, he takes her prisoner and locks her in the dungeon; only to discover later that she is his soul-mate. The magical bond between them means they are meant to be together forever, but humans can’t feel the magic of Fairie. Will Uaine be able to win her heart and convince her that she can trust him to keep her safe from all the dangers of Fairie…including himself?

Roni is a human con woman and petty thief. Having run afoul of the local crime syndicate in the city where she is staying, she finds herself running for her life. Trouble is no stranger to her, but when she falls through a hole in a wall and finds herself in a world with carnivorous trees and rocks that eat people she realizes she may have found more of it than she can deal with. Rescued/arrested by the prince of the Summer Court, it doesn’t take long for her to formulate a plan to use him to get herself home. Unfortunately for her, she soon finds that her heart, which she had thought long ago turned to stone, has begun to feel the love she has been playing at. Will she be able to overcome a lifetime of caution and allow herself to follow her heart? Can a criminal love a cop?

What reviewers are saying:

“I read this book in one sitting, staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. When a book can keep me engaged in such a way that I don’t want to put it down, I know it’s a good one.”-Mary Kirkland

“Mistrial Dawn takes a sassy con artist with an agenda and matches her to a heart-of-gold Prince. They both take their time learning the meaning of true partnership, but when they do finally get it, it is clear that they both complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses perfectly. The story is filled with internal narrative just as you would expect from this author and will draw you into the minds and hearts of her characters.”-Pygmy Amazon Reviews

“This is Mistral Dawn’s second book set in the world of Fairie, and is a smashing follow-up to Taken By the Huntsman! She gives the reader beautiful descriptions of the world her characters live in, describes the cultural differences between humans and Fae, and gives us a romance story that is filled with thought provoking social concepts, a range of emotion, and steamy love scenes.”-Michaela Goebel

captivated by the winter king

Captivated by the Winter King

The official blurb:

Kate is a woman on the run. After years of being physically and emotionally abused by her fiance, she’s finally had enough. But leaving might be even more dangerous than staying, so she needs to get as far away as she can as fast as possible. A late night, desperate drive through the pouring rain ends suddenly when a cat appears in the middle of the road. While trying to avoid the half-drowned creature, Kate loses control of her car and crashes through a portal to Fairie.
Ankou is a fallen God of Death and the king of the Winter Court of Fairie, and he’s facing pressure from every direction. The magic of the Court is out of balance due to the centuries-long lack of a queen. He is harried constantly by the Court nobles who want him to either step down or take a mate. All the duties of a ruling pair rest squarely on his shoulders. And added to all this is a soul-crushing loneliness. His existence stretches back hundreds of millennia, and in all that time he has never found the one person who could warm his lonely heart. He is exhausted and discouraged, and the last thing he needs is to go tearing off into the night on a fool’s errand. But one of his lingering god powers is the ability to sense the right course of action to follow, and his instincts are screaming at him to go to a particular place in the forest of the Winter kingdom and wait. Imagine his surprise when he finds the one he has been waiting for his whole life!
Using a careful blend of patience, seduction, and domination, the Winter king tries to win his soulmate’s love. Feeling safe and valued for the first time in her memory, Kate explores her new freedom by agreeing to try the BDSM games her lover suggests. As she experiments with both domination and submission, she learns just how liberating surrender can be. Will Ankou be able to convince Kate that she can trust him with her feelings as well as her body? Will Kate find a way to overcome the trauma of her past and open up her heart to accept the love that is offered to her? Can these two broken people find a way to fit all their disparate pieces together into a stronger, united whole? You’ll have to read to find out!

What reviewers are saying:

“This is my favorite of the books in the Spellbound Hearts series by Ms. Dawn. As with the others, there are fascinating descriptions of Fairy that enhance the story, but the emphasis is on Ankou and Kate.”-Barbara Chioffi

“A steamy romance with an actual plot, good character development, and a wonderful fantasy setting? I don’t normally read books with this much heat, mainly because I want an actual story to go with the romance. I was not disappointed in this one.”_Rose Montague

“Mistral Dawn does a great job of presenting Kate consistently throughout despite her falling through the portals into a magical world, practically into the arms of the Winter King. This book is detailed, powerful, erotica with a very strong story, including the complicated politics of the Winter Court. Beneath it all is a subtle message; tolerance, kindness and care for the planet are needed if Earth is to survive.”-Sarah Stuart

intrigue in the summer court

Intrigue in the Summer Court

The official blurb:

Jillian knows something bad is going to happen! She has been a loyal adviser to the throne and friend of the queen, Briallen, for thousands of years, and now Roni and Uaine’s wedding and coronation are to take place in just a couple days. The Summer Court will have a new king and queen, who, it is hoped, can repair the damage and heal the schism the late king created.
But Jillian can’t shake the feeling that trouble is brewing. Many of the Summer nobles aren’t happy about the changes that are taking place in the Summer Court, and many of the other Fae just aren’t too sure about having a human on the throne…even if she has been blessed by the goddess. When Angelica, the leader of the Pixies, comes to her with news of a plot to murder the prince and princess, Jillian’s suspicions are confirmed. Will the two of them be able to unravel this conspiracy in time to save the royal couple? Or will prejudice prevail, and the hope for peace in Fairie be lost forever?

What reviewers are saying:

“I was enthralled at how the author used words to paint the different scenes in the story, and how, although the book is not the first in the series, it told a complete story. I am also amazed at the author’s knowledge of ancient European mythology”-Joy Nwosu Lo-Barnijoko

“Another great story by Mistral Dawn. I loved that this one is from Jillian’s perspective – and gives further insight into the world of the Fae.”-Ch’Kara SilverWolf

“It is a quick read with a little bit of the “adult” rated stuff that can be expected from Mistral and also a bit of the story building and intrigue that can be expected as well! Over-all, a very worth while purchase to go along with the other two full length novels she’s so far written”-Robert Clevidence

Here are what reviewers are saying:

“The story was fresh, and the characters were well developed. Over all it was well written. The author has a new take on vampirism, that I’ve never seen before”-Dottie Elrick

“This is an interesting take on vampires with them being allowed to do and experience more then many stories allow. This leads to a more fully developed story and also to an ending which is both surprising and touching. Well edited, strong adult scenes that leave you with a better feel for the over all characters and also some romance so you feel you are seeing into the characters thoughts. A few secrets and some plot twists make this an unusual novel and worth reading.”-Over the Rainbow

birth of a sparrow

The Birth of a Sparrow (Kelly and the Angel Book 1) is the first in a paranormal thriller series. Here is the official blurb:

Kelly Austin knew the day her apartment was robbed, and a seemingly innocent item stolen, that her world was about to change forever. Every secret she held deep inside of her was now in the hands of a stranger and Kelly would do anything to get it back before its contents were revealed. As her life starts to unravel around her, Kelly is forced to admit, by a persistent Detective, that maybe not all of her secrets were meant to be kept to herself, or that she would have to face the storms of the world alone.

From the moment of their first meeting, Detective Michael Harding realized that Kelly was different from any person e had ever met before. Kelly’s obsession in wanting to find her stolen journal, led him to hear the mysterious and frightening words that she put down on paper, ultimately learning the truth of who she really was, that of a modern day prophet. Sensing her panic at the turmoil erupting around her, Michael let go of everything he ever believed to help Kelly accept her fate, taking them both on a wild and dangerous journey that would not only change how they saw themselves, but the world.

What reviewers are saying about it:

“This is an interesting book that follows the experiences of a young woman who is psychic. Her concerns about how people will react to her visions feel very real, as do the reactions of those who tells. The book is well written, although the dialoque [sic] could use a few more contractions. I enjoyed this book. It appears to be part of a series, and I’m looking forward to reading the other books.”NM Reader

the weight of light

I have read and reviewed The Weight of Light and can honestly recommend it 1000%. But don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself. Lose yourself in the world of Arm’aros and Zoe.

The official blurb:

The carnal appetites of the disgraced Watcher Angels have devastated the fledgling human race – carving a bloody, brutal stain of perversion and depravity into pre-antediluvian history.

Arma’ros is one of these first Celestials to defy draconian Divine Law, becoming obsessed by his unique human charge and the possibilities offered by a different, wondrous and sensual new existence.

Zoe, an antiquities scholar obsessed with the last Key of Enoch, is afflicted with a bizarre talent that no other being on Earth possesses – the ability to detect and track down the Nephilim, the dangerous and unstable hybrid offspring of humans and Watchers.

Arma’ros desperately needs to rally the Watchers and Nephilim for the imminent prophesied battle of the End of Days, but Zoe’s gift and her own self-doubt makes her a target for Bar’zek, second to the diabolical Master, who has orchestrated and manipulated events since the Beginning.

Can Zoe and Arma’ros overcome their crippling past to rally the remaining Grigori and Nephilim, and, even more importantly, can they prevent the last Enochian Key – which will obliterate the gateway between the Heavenly and Earthly Realms – from falling into the grasp of the Master? Will they unlock a new age of unlimited Divine potential for humans – or unleash the total Apocalyptic annihilation of our Earth?

What other reviews had to say:

“It was new and refreshing. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it all the way to the end.”-Miranda Shanklin

“For anyone interested in anything spiritual and, at the same time sensual, I would highly recommend this new author.”-Melinda Polet

“The Weight of Light is an interesting and thought-provoking read. It is, in equal measures, sensual and spiritual

Author Spotlight: Theresa Hodge

Theresa Hodge

It is my pleasure to present to you this Alabama-based romance writer. The author of sixteen novels and a gifted poet, Ms. Hodge is an Alabama native – loving mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She is at her best when she is able to bring happiness to others. This author loves to read almost as much as she loves to write fictional stories. She finds writing to be therapeutic at times, especially during the loss of her oldest sister from breast cancer, which birthed her “Ask Me Again” Series. This was her first but this compilation led to her writing several other books.

Additionally, Theresa has a love affair with poetry. She began writing poetry at an early age and it served as a catalyst for her growth as a writer.

If Theresa can bring a smile to your face and encourage someone else along her journey, she considers it a blessing beyond measure.

Her works:

Noells Rock 1

Noelle’s Rock: A BWWM Holiday Romance is the first in a highly-rated trilogy.

The Official Blurb:

I love him enough to let go.
I hope Beau doesn’t take this the wrong way. I just want him to think about the words I’m about to say. I’m pregnant with another man’s child. A fact we seem to forget when we get caught up in our own little universe. I will start to show pretty soon and I don’t want to worry about a reporter popping out of the bushes every time we are together…I think we should end things now before I get hurt in the crossfire of his lifestyle. I have to concentrate on having a healthy baby and being the best mother I can to my baby.
I will never let her go. Ever.
I hold Noelle tight and squeeze her like I never want to let her go. I don’t give a damn if she’s pregnant by another man. Her baby is a part of her, and I will love every part of her. I will be there for her baby in a way that that sorry excuse of a man, Victor, could never man up to be. I love Noelle and her unborn child. I have no qualms about being with her forever, and I didn’t even believe in long-lasting relationships before Noelle. Now that she’s my woman, I don’t ever want to hear her talk about leaving me, ever again.

What would you do if the man you loved threw you out into the night, after you told him you were carrying his child? Would you fight for the love you once had, or walk away and begin to pick up the pieces of your life? Luckily for Noelle Winters, the meeting of a stranger puts her in the right place at the right time to take her out the cold and into the warmth of Rockstar Beau Barringer’s heart. The question is, will this unlikely connection survive color lines, distrust and the skeletons from the past.

A Few reviewer comments:

“Ms. Hodge uses this method of telling with an immediacy that is at once thrilling and deep. Seemingly simple. it is psychologically on target”-Francine Craft

“This author captured my attention from the very beginning in this book. Very well written!”-Marquetta Henderson

“This was a good read. I liked the romance aspect and the fact that two unlikely characters could fall in love against all odds.”-Tanith

ask me again

It took twelve long years for Alyssa Darden to come home. A place she promised to never revisit again. The loss of a dear friend sent her back to a place of old hurts that she must confront before she can truly live again.

Author Spotlight-Andy Peloquin

Andy Peloquin

In honor of his novel The Blade of the Destroyer being free this weekend, I am featuring the APC awesomeness that is Andy Peloquin. An active member of Authors-Professionals Co-op and an all-around cool guy, he is definitely worth getting to know.

Andy Peloquin–a third culture kid to the core–has loved to read since before he could remember. Sherlock Holmes, the Phantom of the Opera, and Father Brown are just a few of the books that ensnared his imagination as a child.

When he discovered science fiction and fantasy through the pages of writers like Edgar Rice Burroughs, J.R.R Tolkien, and Orson Scott Card, he was immediately hooked and hasn’t looked back since.

Andy’s first attempt at writing produced In the Days: A Tale of the Forgotten Continent. He has learned from the mistakes he made and used the experience to produce Blade of the Destroyer, a book of which he is very proud.

Reading–and now writing–is his favorite escape, and it provides him an outlet for his innate creativity. He is an artist; words are his palette.

blade of the destroyer

Blade of the Destroyer (which is free this weekend-don’t forget to snag your copy!) is a dark fantasy novel. Here is the official blurb:

The Hunter of Voramis is the perfect assassin:

Ruthless, Unrelenting, Immortal.

Yet he is haunted by lost memories, bonded to a cursed dagger that feeds him power yet denies him peace of mind. Within him rages an unquenchable need for blood and death. When he accepts a contract to avenge the stolen innocence of a girl, the Hunter becomes the prey. The death of a seemingly random target sends him hurtling toward destruction, yet could his path also lead to the truth of his buried past?

Some reviewer comments:

1. “Creative, gritty, and beautifully dark…fantasy addicts will love it!” — Peter Story, author of Things Grak Hates
2. “The fantasy world has a compelling new antihero…the Hunter will terrify and captivate you.” – EJ Bouinatchova, author of Soothbound

In the Days

In the Days: a Tale of the Forgotten Continent, according to the blurb, is “a tale of the last days of the great Empire–an Empire that the world forgot. One man is shown a glimpse into the future–a future that could be, or the future that is destined to come?
This is the story of Atlantis, in the days when it ceased to be.

According to some reviewers:

“Fantastic character development and a roller-coaster plot!”-Peter J.

“It’s classic, good, adventurous fun that rolls you along effortlessly from beginning ’till end”-Eve’s Folly

“Great detail, rich world-building, and a pace that kept my focus all really stood out to me with this book.”-Marie T.
